Reverse Engineering — From Part Back to CAD Model

No CAD data? No problem. Our reverse engineering service converts physical parts into complete digital CAD models — even when original drawings or design data are no longer available. The process begins with a high-precision 3D scan, followed by professional surface reconstruction, where our engineers create a parametric CAD model from the scanned point cloud.

This workflow is indispensable when discontinued parts need to be reproduced, existing products need to be further developed, or missing documentation needs to be reconstructed. With our laser and NIR scanners, we capture surfaces with an accuracy of up to 0.02 mm — the perfect foundation for dimensionally accurate reconstructions. We deliver the finished CAD models in all common formats: STEP, IGES, STL or as native SolidWorks/Fusion 360 models.

From Reconstruction to Manufacturing

The particular advantage of our integrated approach: after reconstruction, we can reproduce the part directly in our own production — via FDM, SLA or SLS. Whether one-off or small series, whether faithful reproduction or optimised further development — the entire process from physical part through digital twin to new component runs under one roof. This saves time, avoids interface problems and guarantees consistent quality.

Advantages

No CAD Data Required

No drawings? No problem. We reconstruct complete CAD models from the physical part.

High-Precision Capture

3D scans with up to 0.02 mm accuracy provide the foundation for dimensionally accurate reconstructions.

Parametric Models

The reconstructed CAD models are fully parametric and therefore editable and modifiable.

Seamless Workflow

From 3D scan through surface reconstruction to manufacturing — everything from a single source.
